Welcome
to my first foray into a blog. I
realise most blogs have a topic of interest, theme or the like but, at this point
my blog maybe quite random as I gain my blogging feet. In
this post I will give a brief run-down about my published efforts to date (plus
information on where to find them) as well as the up-coming release of an eBook
of poetry co-written by my partner,
Kevin, and me - Forming a Picture of You. Tea With Miss Tilly,
illustrated by Philip Webb, was published in 2012 by HarperCollins NZ Ltd. It’s
a picture book written for 3-7 year-olds. Miss Tilly is the epitome of a
storyteller, someone/something I hope survives the techno highway we are
accelerating at breakneck speeds down. If
you wish to purchase Tea With Miss Tilly,
please follow this link to HarperCollins: Tea
With Miss Tilly, by Justine Payen & Illustrated by Philip Webb To
read the story Only Fools & Murder
I wrote for one of my Massey University papers please follow this link: Only Fools &
Murder . Also, my Kiwi take on a Brother’s Grimm fairy tale, The Twelve Dancing Princes can be found
here: The
Shoemaker & the Twelve Dancing Princesses. Both Noisemedium.com and Goethe-Institut New Zealand have some
wonderful stories on their sites – it’s well worthwhile staying and immersing
yourself in them. As I said above, Forming a Picture of You will shortly be published ‑ initially as
an eBook on Kindle. I will place up the link to the book as soon as it goes
live, but until then here’s one of the poems. I hope you like it: A Tear For You by Kevin Baddeley I
shed for you a single tear for
every day of every year. And
hold you up for all to see a
gift from heaven just for me. For
you’re the hand and I’m the glove Eternally
we’ll share our love. I
shed for you a single tear for
every day of every year. To
help you through all mortal pain and
set your spirit free again. |

Thanks Jenny. I actually had more fun doing this blog then I expected to.
I have just been on your Tui Cottage site and really enjoyed learning about Orere Point and reading your stories which I thoroughly enjoyed. Fantastic photos with wonderful rhymes. When I tried to access your blog it threw up an error message.

Thanks Wendy, I'm still learning heaps about my website and now blogging. I have found Vistaprint to be really, really straightforward and easy to use, which is always a benefit for someone with not a lot of time.

This is such a lovely poem you have shared with us! It talks mainly about the eternal love that you wished to share with your loved one. Our tear is a precious gift of our Almighty God, we should not waste a single drop. That is why we must shed it only for someone worth our love that is given to us by God. A true love is what we all hope for and I know that all of us will have it, so let us all save our tears for those who are worth it.
